I love the tire guts. Did you ever read Moby Dick? In one of my facvorite bits, with a whale hanging from the mast and sharks jumping up to take big bites of it, the cook implores the sharks to find their inner angels and leave the whale to his restful peace. I love that book. But the last photo - also quite beautiful, with the hanging canvas - reminded me of it. X Elissa
O, I dislike being obliged to say no to the "Have you read...?" question. But I did photograph Moby at the Mermaid parade--that's sort of close, isn't it?
Thanks for the ever-so-lovely description, which elevates the photo, in my opinion.
I love these atmospheric photographs Kookaburra. Especially love the churned up tyres and chains with the muted dusty pink, paint peeling backdrop. Makes me think of that film/book by Annie Proulx, "The shipping news" (or was it shipping forecast?). Poetic images.
Hey Kookaburra. Just wanted to let you know I have included you in my blog list of fave blogs - I hope this is okay - do let me know if you'd rather not be there ; ) December greetings to you :)
